A couple of mentions of Justin have come up in the press. First a mention at the Music Mogul competition:

Grey’s Anatomy’s Justin Chambers and wife Keisha, cozying up at Music Mogul.com’s Talent Search finals at L.A.’s House of Blues. “The two cuddled in a table on the balcony directly in front of the stage” as they discussed the competition, says an eyewitness.

Second, a mention in an interview with Chyler Leigh (plays Lexie Grey in “Grey’s Anatomy”). She recently had a baby and gave People magazine an interview which will be featured in the August 31st issue:

The well-behaved baby has already won over the actors on her mom’s hit show. “Justin [Chambers] nicknamed her Baby Elvis because of her mohawk,” Chyler says. The cast has showered the new arrival with gifts — mostly of the eco-friendly variety: “Justin got us organic cotton onesies, as well as gifts for the older kids,” she shares. “Eric [Dane] got us organic baby diaper ointment and lotions and Shonda [Rhimes] got us a huge Saks Fifth Avenue basket, which was really sweet.”

There’s a brief Justin mention in a men’s fashion article in USA TODAY.

These five well-known men are workin’ it in white
By Arienne Thompson, USA TODAY

Men usually leave it to the ladies to experiment with color. However, several male stars are shaking things up by throwing white into their color palettes. “Most guys aren’t going to go for yellow or pink or orange, but white has a kind of neutrality,” says Esquire‘s Nick Sullivan. “It’s a style statement.” Sullivan analyzes the right whites for USA TODAY.

Trendy jacket

A Salvatore Ferragamo party is all about style, and the Grey’s Anatomy star didn’t disappoint with a fashion-forward moto jacket in an unexpected off-white. He’s saying, ” ‘Hey, I’m wearing a biker jacket because I’m tough, but it’s not a black jacket, so I know I’m making a bit of a statement,’ ” Sullivan says.

White the right way: Use the element of surprise sparingly. Don’t “wear white leather biker jeans with it, or all white. (It) has to be the one element in your wardrobe that pops.”

I updated the recent Rome, Italy albums with new pics and added DVD screencaps of 4 more season 3 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy.

Here’s confirmation of what I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Justin did indeed spend his birthday in Rome, Italy. Justin said in an interview while over in Italy that he will be having a big birthday party and the Grey’s Anatomy cast is invited. I wonder when that party is going to happen. Maybe next weekend? Here’s the birthday boy with Keisha at the Closing Gala of the Rome Fiction Fest.

Other interview tidbits from Justin:

  • When Justin says the Grey’s cast is like family, it may sound trivial and false but it’s really true. They’ve had 5 seasons together are going going to start working on season 6 and have another season after that. The cast has known each other for years. They spend 10 months of a year together and after work many times they’ll go out to dinner or for a drink. He’s planning a big party to celebrate his 39th birthday and his  Grey’s family has been invited to it.
  • He and Katherine Heigl have known each other for years now and they share total complicity.
  • He had to move to Los Angeles because of Grey’s Anatomy but he still has his place in New York.
  • Justin doesn’t think he has much in common with his character Alex Karev. Alex is more responsive/ tense, whereas Justin is more laid-back. As an actor Justin has to constantly work with emotions while Alex is the complete opposite and has great difficulty in expressing what he feels. There are reasons for this related to Alex’s past.
  • In terms of style, Justin prefers simplicity above all which isn’t easy to obtain; wearing light and practical clothes together which is why he prefers Calvin Klein, an American classic.
  • Justin says he’s not very ambitious professionally, perhaps even a little lazy. One of the positive aspects of the show is the security it offers. He’s well paid and it allows him to provide his family with a comfortable life. He would be fine with retiring at 50 and dedicating himself solely to humanitarian causes because the world needs all of us and to sit at a table and feel like he’s not contributing anything to the global well-being is something that doesn’t make him feel good. If he’s remembered as a Calvin Klein model or Dr. Karev on “Grey’s Anatomy”, he’s okay with that. He considers himself a lucky person, has more positive aspects in his life than negative and so he hopes that things continue this way.

There are a few more videos from the Q&A during the Grey’s Anatomy screening at the Rome Fiction Fest. It’s basically the same as the previous video from the last post but from different angles. Also People magazine’s website has a small video announcing Justin’s birthday. To those interested the links are below:

3rd Annual Roma Fiction Fest – Grey’s Anatomy Screening – July 8

This morning Justin and co-star Eric Dane took part in a press conference for Grey’s Anatomy.

3rd Annual Roma Fiction Fest – Press Conference – July 8

The articles about the press conference are in italian and that’s not a language I speak all that well (see article sources for the orginal content) but here are a few things Justin said during the press conference were:

  • The success of Grey’s Anatomy is because it’s like ‘E.R.’ with the medical situations and like ‘Sex & the City’ with a lot of relationships and the more sentimental aspect. Above all, the success is due to the diverse type of characters and stories the show has which cover all age groups so there’s at least one character the viewers can identify with.
  • He never knows what is going to happen on the show but what he can say is that these doctors take life very seriously and it reflects in their relationships.
  • He’d like to be an actor for as long as he can but he takes everything one day at a time. The show has been a great launching pad for him and he’ll possibly look into producing and doing more humanitarian work in the future which is something he really likes to do.
  • Asked if he’d like to see his character have a spinoff like Addison with ‘Private Practice’, Justin says he doesn’t think his character would work in a show of that type and he’s happy on Grey’s and likes being part of that group of people.
  • Justin says he watches ‘Lost’ and lot of HBO shows which, in his opinion, has produced some of the best television in recent years. As a viewer, he prefers TV to movies and he hates reality shows.
  • He supported President Obama during the election campaign and although there are some issues Justin disagrees with, he thinks Obama has done a lot for America and he’s proud to have him as President.
