A photo from the Grey’s Anatomy 300th episode celebration is in the Oct. 16 issue of Us Weekly magazine. There’s no new information and the photo is the same one we have in the photo archive in HQ, but I’m posting the scan here if anyone wants to see it. Click on the scan to see it in full size.

Last Friday (Oct. 6), a very lucky fan visited the set of Grey’s and took this great photo with Justin, Camilla Luddington and Jessica Capshaw, who were clearly shooting a surgery scene together that day.

Grey’s Anatomy co-showrunner, Krista Vernoff, spoke to TV LINE about the upcoming 300th episode of the show (ep 14.07 titled “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” airing Nov. 9th) and said that the feel of the episode will be nostalgia and the theme is ghosts of our past.

Grey’s 300th-Episode Nostalgia Trip Is a ‘Love Letter to the Fans,’ Says EP

Of all the romances that have been sparked by Grey’s Anatomy, from Meredith and Derek’s to Callie and Arizona’s, one stands out as the greatest love of all: the relationship between the ABC drama and its audience. So it was with that in mind that recently-returned executive producer/co-showrunner Krista Vernoff sat down to come up with the script for the series’ milestone 300th episode. “I have written it,” she tells TVLine, “as a love letter to the fans who have been watching all 14 years.”

Although Vernoff’s goal now that she is once again Team Grey’s is to move the show forward, imbuing it with “more joy and more light and more humor,” the 300th episode is a special occasion, one on which it’s only appropriate to take a moment and look back. “If there is a feel to the episode,” she says, “it is nostalgia. And if there is a theme of the episode, it is the ghosts of our past.

“So I have found a way,” she continues, “to pay some small tribute to everyone who has been here before.”

A new six-part web series will be going up on ABC.com and on the ABC app called Grey’s Anatomy: Post-Op. This is what it’s about:

In anticipation of GREY’S ANATOMY 300th episode, ABC Digital Studios is launching a six-part web series, “Grey’s Anatomy: Post-Op,” hosted by Gordon James who plays Nurse Gregory on the series. Each week, leading up to “Grey’s Anatomy”‘s astounding 300th episode, James will be joined by special guests including cast, writers, producers and various crew members as they look back at over a decade’s worth of memorable moments. Each new episode will offer a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most iconic scenes of the prolific ABC series, as well as an exclusive sneak peek into upcoming episodes from this record-breaking 14th season.

The first episode is already up. It focuses on the music on Grey’s, and Music Supervisor, Alexandra Patsavas, is interviewed. You can watch it at ABC.com or watch it below on Youtube.

The cast of Grey’s Anatomy hit social media on Thursday to promote the season premiere. Check out Justin’s own post and his appearance in his cast mates posts below.

This photo was also posted on Twitter.

Jason George posted this video (also on Twitter) with Justin when they were shooting Grey’s on location at Marina del Rey the previous day.

And to end this post, Sarah Drew took over the Grey’s Anatomy Instagram that day and posted this boomerang of Justin, Camilla Luddington and Kelly McCreary on set.

Back in July, the Grey’s Anatomy production went to Seattle to shoot some scenes for season 14. While there, some of the cast was interviewed by Seattle’s KOMO News.
I added photos of Justin being interviewed on the waterfront to the archive, and the album link is below.

KOMO News finally posted their report on Grey’s returning to the city to film. I uploaded the video report to Youtube (below) but it can also be watched at komonews.com.

Check out what Justin, Chandra Wilson, Kevin McKidd, Jesse Williams and Jason George had to say about Grey’s Anatomy and being in Seattle:

Here are Justin’s quotes from the article that accompanies the video at the source.

“It’s great to be back,” added Justin Chambers (“Alex Karev”). “Definitely an important character to the show, this city.”
(…)
“It’s a great blessing, getting to work with the people I want to work with, I get to play a character that’s fun and pay the bills. Can’t ask for anything more!” Justin said.
(…)
Justin told us, “Ellen’s great to work off of, there’s great chemistry there. I like that there’s sort of a sibling love for each other.” And as for romance rumors? “People project and see what they want to see, and that’s all in Shonda’s head. It will go where it goes anything is possible, as an actor my job is to fly with what’s written and justify it in my mind and I can do that.”

Jessica Capshaw did Us Weekly‘s “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” feature and in it she mentions Justin in her #24.

24. I have a self-diagnosed “photographic memory” and this helps me learn my lines in a minute (thank goodness!) and reeeeeally irritates Justin Chambers.

Camilla Luddington gave an interview to the site Popsugar where she talked about Jo and Alex, and mentions Justin.

Why Grey’s Anatomy Star Camilla Luddington Is Still Rooting For Jolex

We recently caught up with Luddington on the red carpet for the BAFTA TV Tea Party, where she gave us a few hints at what’s to come. Namely, things are going to have to come to a tipping point with Alex (Justin Chambers). “All I want for Jo and Alex is for them to sit down in a room and have a conversation, which they apparently can’t do,” she told us, laughing. “I feel like he’s going to have to be honest at some point with her and let her know he reached out to her husband.” Luddington, of course, is referring to an episode near the end of season 13 when Alex tracks down Jo’s husband, Paul (Matthew Morrison). While Alex doesn’t reveal who he is or his connection to Jo, it’s like some unseen seal has been broken.

“I’m interested to see where that takes them and if that creates more conflict between them,” Luddington continued. “She definitely feels that he’s a threat to both of them. As always, tons of drama.” Tons of drama, indeed. At this point, so much is up in the air romantically for Jo and Alex, especially since Morrison is definitely set to reprise his role as Paul. After all, she turns down his proposal in the penultimate episode of season 13, and she still has to deal with the whole DeLuca thing.

As for Luddington’s personal feelings? “You know, I’m a Jolex fan,” she admitted. “I am. I love working with Justin, and we have so much fun together, and we’re really both invested in this relationship. You know, we’ve been involved for six years in it, so I have to root for it.”

The season 14 premiere of Grey’s Anatomy is only days away (September 28), and here is the promo for it.

Last week’s episode of Grey’s marked Ellen Pompeo’s directorial debut. In an article posted by The Hollywood Reporter, Justin had this to say about Ellen as a director:

For his part, Grey’s co-star Justin Chambers (Alex) describes his longtime co-star as an “actor’s director” and notes that he’s proud of Pompeo for stepping behind the camera and taking on a greater leadership role with the series.

“She really seems like a natural,” he says. “Think about it: She’s been here for 13 seasons. She’s seen everyone come and go and worked with so many directors that she probably has taken something from everyone. And she knows these characters. I call her Girl Friday because she’s a smart woman and she can watch, sit back and take it all in and knows everyone so well.”

I’ve added screencaps to the gallery of Justin’s brief appearance in the most recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

Entertainment Weekly posted an article in which Grey’s Anatomy‘s executive producer Debbie Allen says there’s a big chance that Jo’s estranged husband will be introduced. Justin also shares his thoughts on whether Alex would try to find Jo’s husband and Andrew DeLuca’s feelings for her.

Grey’s Anatomy: Jo’s estranged husband may finally get introduced

The moment Grey’s Anatomy fans have been waiting for may soon be on the horizon: meeting Jo’s estranged husband.

As revealed at the close of season 12, Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) could not marry Alex (Justin Chambers) because she was already wed to an abusive man, whom she ran away from, changing her name in the process. Though Jo has been hiding from him this whole time, if she ever truly wants to be rid of him, she’ll need a divorce (or annulment!), meaning there’s a good chance he could soon come into the picture.

“There is a chance, a big chance,” executive producer Debbie Allen tells EW. “It’s the elephant in the room, the one piece that we have not been able to fit into the puzzle of why they have not been able to get married, what she’s been holding back and what she’s been dealing with. It gives us great story.” In fact, it’s potentially such a rich story line that Allen adds, “It can go all the way into next season, I can tell you that.”

The question remains whether Jo is actually ready to face her ex, or if Alex may put her in that position himself — after all, if he does want to properly propose, he could try to track down the man himself. “Possibly yes,” Chambers says. “Or maybe the guy comes back. He’s still out there. I don’t know yet. They’re still married, Alex is still in love with Jo, he wants to marry her, so that’s going to have to come to rest, that whole situation.”

After he nearly ended up in prison for beating up DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), would Alex take the high road with Jo’s ex, even though this man abused the woman he loves? “I would think he would be a little more cautious, but Alex always does things unpredictably, so we’ll see what happens,” Chambers says.

In the meantime, DeLuca will finally come to terms with his feelings for Jo, which should stir up new drama in the wake of last year’s finale. “The whole season has been teasing at that,” Gianniotti says. “He has tiptoed around how he feels about her, but he hasn’t directly said it. By the end of the season, we’re going to see him confront her and his feelings. I don’t know how it’s going to go for him. Nice guys often finish last, so we’ll see.”

This time around, however, it doesn’t look like things will get physical between Alex and DeLuca in the aftermath. “I don’t think he’s going to beat him up again,” Chambers says. “I think DeLuca is just going through a little spell, he just has a crush on her. There’s plenty of fish in the sea. Jo still loves Alex, so I think that’s where it’s at.”

Last Friday (March 24), Justin filmed Grey’s Anatomy episode 13.23 on location at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The scenes he filmed were with actor Matthew Morrison (best known for playing Will Schuester on ‘Glee’) and the director was fellow Grey’s star, Kevin McKidd.

Matthew Morrison revealed in an Instagram story that he is playing a character named Dr. Paul Stadler and there’s speculation that he’s Jo’s husband. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s true or not. In the meantime, some BTS photos have been added to the gallery and I’ve embedded some of my tweets with the description & source of the pics. A video of Kevin directing a scene with Justin and Matthew is below as well.
