★ ABC announced today that Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for season 16 and season 17! The show will also become the longest-running medical drama in number of seasons (ER had 15 seasons).

I remember years ago when Justin was talking about Grey’s maybe going up to season 15, but not more, and even that seemed like it might be a goal they wouldn’t reach. But here they are at the end of season 15, going into season 16, and already picked up for a season 17. Wow. Congratulations to Justin and everyone who is part of the making of Grey’s Anatomy on the continued success!

Grey’s executive producer and the director of the season 15 finale airing next week, Debbie Allen, made the following Instagram post to celebrate the renewal news and included a photo of the cast and producers taken during the last season 15 table read.
