The cast of Grey’s Anatomy is holding a contest where two lucky fans will win a 11×15 print of their winning pic signed by the whole cast and will have their winning pic posted on every cast member’s Twitter feed.

Basically, the cast recreated some iconic movie posters in front of a green screen. Fans have to edit the pics to fill in the background. There are two awards:

The Klein Crown goes to the most accurate recreation of the original movie poster. Every detail counts! Just like in surgery!
The Bohkee Medal of Honor is for the most creative take on the original image. You can do whatever you’d like to the picture. The sky is the limit! Just keep our faces and bodies intact.

Fans can submit as many entries as they like, but it must be through Twitter and include the hashtag #GA250GreenScreenChallenge. The deadline for the contest is Sunday, October 26th at 8 pm PST. To read more about the contest and see an example for each award, check out this Tumblr with the details: ga250greenscreenchallenge.tumblr.com

Here are links to the original tweets with the pics for the contest: Justin, Sarah, Jesse, Kevin, Camilla, Jessica, Jerrika, Sara, Kelly, Jason, Caterina, James, Giacomo, Joe, Debbie.

For convenience, I added all the tweeted photos to our gallery with the name of the movie poster recreated under each one. The album link is below. Good luck to all participants! 🙂

I wish you would sometimes on twitter also admit when Alex is being an ass. You always defend him even when there’s nothing to defend. I like him so much better than Jo but I don’t think him ignoring her at a party she only went to because he made her is okay. If my boyfriend did this, no matter what is going on, I would be upset. And frankly I think we all are tired of him always supporting everyone and not having anything going on himself. He’s like a prop in other people’s lives. Is this his main role now? Because frankly I find that boring and I’m not very interesting in watching perfect friend Alex every week. His character is too layered for that nonsense.

Wow. There’s a lot going on this comment so I’ll take it by parts.

If there’s nothing to defend, then maybe I’m not defending him. I could simply be stating my thoughts. There’s a difference between expressing a thought/feeling with no other intent and making an argument for someone/something. I have criticized Alex, actually. Last season I said he needed to establish boundaries and not let Meredith be so intrusive when it comes to his personal life (mainly his relationship with Jo). It’s interesting that you say you wish I would call out Alex for being an ass and stop defending him, but you’re not saying the same for other characters. For instance, this season I have actually “defended” Jo and haven’t tweeted about her being an ass (among other things) when there’s been reason to, especially in recent episodes.

I like him so much better than Jo but I don’t think him ignoring her at a party she only went to because he made her is okay. If my boyfriend did this, no matter what is going on, I would be upset.
He didn’t make her go. Yes, he wanted her to go and spend time with his friends so they could all get to know each other, but Jo is an adult who makes her own decisions and as such she chose to go. Alex didn’t physically drag her to the party or threaten her in any way if she didn’t go. The situation for me is not as black and white as “Alex & Jo went to a party and he ignored her. Alex = jerk”. Context is everything. If Alex ignored Jo at the party because he wanted to talk and have fun with someone, then Jo has every right to call him a jerk. However, this situation was more complicated than that. He noticed that his best friend was troubled over something and was worried about her. After finding out what was going on, I think Jo should’ve cut him some slack. Jo spent the entire time at the party obsessed with Alex and Stephanie – the two people she already has a personal relationship with – when the point of her going to party was for her to get to know Alex’s friends and let them get to know her on a personal level.

And frankly I think we all are tired of him always supporting everyone and not having anything going on himself. He’s like a prop in other people’s lives. Is this his main role now? Because frankly I find that boring and I’m not very interesting in watching perfect friend Alex every week. His character is too layered for that nonsense.
Fair enough and I agree. I don’t see what this has to do with your initial statement about me not criticizing Alex, though. I feel that Alex in season 12 has been shown less in the friend role because Meredith, Amelia and Maggie have become a unit (“sisterhood”). This has translated in there being an overall decrease of Alex being onscreen (exception being episode 12.03, of course). I’m pretty sure all Alex fans wish he had more to do and a storyline of his own. I would love to see more of Alex as a doctor/surgeon treating patients and saving lives. I would love to see more of Alex as a teacher who teaches interns, residents and fellows how to be great doctors/surgeons. I would love to see more of Alex as a boyfriend and have more insight into his relationship with Jo. Grey’s Anatomy is a very big ensemble and I’m aware that Alex is not a priority for the writers. It’s become pretty clear that Grey’s is mostly a ‘Lady Place’. Maybe you should try (politely) tweeting Shonda Rhimes and the writers about your concerns in regards to Alex’s storyline. I have on occasion tweeted them or tagged them in tweets to convey my thoughts when it comes to Alex and his storylines (or lack thereof).

Thanks for the comment and visiting the site. As to who/what I choose to tweet about or defend or criticize, that’s going to still be whatever I feel like in that moment. I’m not going to cater my tweets to please people or fit an agenda. It honestly would be a mess if I did that seeing as I get tweets from people who have such diverse ideas, interests and opinions, not just about Alex but also about the other characters/ships and the show in general.
