There’s finally confirmation of what fans were hoping for! Justin has signed a new two-year deal to stay on Grey’s Anatomy through seasons 11 and 12. In addition to Justin, there’s confirmation that Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr and Sara Ramirez have also signed new deals.

Four Grey’s Anatomy Stars Sign New Two-Year Deals

Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr. and Sara Ramirez have signed new two-year deals for Grey’s Anatomy, TVGuide.com has learned.

The quartet joins Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey, who also extended their contracts through Season 12 back in January. ABC has yet to officially pick up Grey’s for Season 11, but the announcement is expected soon.

The news comes on the heels of Sandra Oh’s upcoming departure from the series after 10 seasons. Current series regulars Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles will also exit at the end of the season. As for those sticking around, it’s unclear whether Caterina Scorsone, who’s currently reprising her Private Practice role as Dr. Amelia Shepherd, will be promoted to series regular in Season 11, though Thursday’s episode opened the door to that possibility.

Aside from Pompeo and Dempsey, Chambers (Dr. Alex Karev), Wilson (Dr. Miranda Bailey) and Pickens (Dr. Richard Webber) are the only remaining original actors who are still with the show. Ramirez (Dr. Callie Torres) joined the show in Season 2 before becoming a series regular the following season.

With three episodes (including tonight’s) left to air in this 10th season of Grey’s Anatomy, media outlets are publishing interviews with the cast reflecting on Sandra Oh’s exit. Below are Justin’s thoughts about his co-star of ten seasons from TV Guide and The Hollywood Reporter.

TV Guide — GREY’S ANATOMY: THE CAST SAYS FAREWELL TO SANDRA OH

“It’s going to be completely bizarre. It’s going to be a huge hole for us because she’s such a huge part of Grey’s. Her intelligence and talent is felt, and it ripples throughout the show. So, not having her here, we’re really going to feel it. I’m excited for her. She’s so talented. There’s going to be great stuff for her in the future.” — Justin Chambers

The Hollywood Reporter — ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Cast, Creators Say Farewell to Sandra Oh

Justin Chambers (Alex)
Favorite memory and how Cristina’s story should end:
“Sandra is an incredible actor and will just look at me a certain way and I’ll bust up laughing. We had a scene fighting over a gurney and we acted juvenile like our characters do. She does this look and puts her head up and walks off and I kept laughing every time we did the take. I love her so much. She sets such a great precedent on our show and a lot of actors, myself included, have learned from her. I love Yang and what she’s contributed to the show. I think Yang should run a hospital somewhere and be happy. She should find happiness even if it’s through work.”

&#9733 Finally, TV Guide posted a teaser for the Grey’s season finale coming in a few weeks.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
Airs: Thursday, May 15 at 9/8c

After 10 seasons, Sandra Oh will check out of Grey Sloan Memorial. “Cristina’s departure is both heartbreaking but also completely fitting for the character — and I hope for fans as well,” executive producer Shonda Rhimes says. Elsewhere, the hospital copes with victims from a potential act of terrorism, Meredith makes a life-changing decision and “a main character receives stunning news,” Rhimes teases.

TV Guide posted a new interview where Justin discusses the possibility of Alex leaving Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and joining a private practice. Read on to see what he has to say.

Grey’s Anatomy: Will Alex Really Leave Grey Sloan Memorial?

Could another doctor say farewell to the hallowed halls of Grey Sloan Memorial before the end of Grey’s Anatomy’s tenth season? With the mounting pressure of his student loans soon being due, Alex (Justin Chambers) might be swayed to join Dr. Butthole’s (Patrick Fabian) private practice.

“This is somebody who Alex [is] taken by what’s going on with his life,” Chambers tells TVGuide.com. “This guy is still young. He’s got cars, a nice office and a good job. What he does is easy. He could do it blindfolded. Alex thinks, ‘Wow, maybe I could do this. I still have all these loans. I’m broke. Maybe I need to start possibly thinking of joining a private practice.’ He’s starting to see that he could maybe profit a little more than he has and also still be able to do charitable and humanitarian things that he’s been doing as a doctor.”

But that decision won’t come lightly. After all, Alex is part of the original Fab Five of interns whose careers have been defined by their time at the hospital formerly known as Seattle Grace. And if his emotional ties won’t keep him at the hospital, then his mentor Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) certainly will try. “I do not think she will let him go very easily,” Capshaw says. “Just flashback to the fact that he was supposed to be on the plane. He can’t have had her go on the plane and then go off with Dr. Butthole, that’s not going to go down well for her.

Still, Alex considering taking the job is “justified,” Chambers says. “Especially now that he’s in a relationship, he has a home now, maybe he wants to start a family and he wants to pay off these debts, he might want the money.”

Would you miss Alex if he left Grey Sloan?
