Here is our first look at Justin on the season 9 set of Grey’s Anatomy. A fan by the name Haley paid a visit to the set of the show on Tuesday and posted a pic on Twitter and Facebook.
Haley’s FB comment:

justin chambers… omfgg. first person i met on set and by far the sweetest. talked about coming from across the country ugh he was awesome and so much hotter in person omg love him♥ best day ever, made my life.

Saying that Haley had a good time on set and enjoyed meeting Justin seems like an understatement. LOL

As we can see by Haley’s pic, in season 9, Dr. Alex Karev has graduated to wearing the navy blue scrubs the Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital attending/fellow surgeons use instead of the light blue scrubs the residents wear.

ABC released the premiere dates for its Fall shows this week. Grey’s Anatomy season 9 will have a one hour premiere on September 27.

Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy creator, writer, producer) has been giving interviews on what’s ahead on Grey’s Anatomy in season 9. What she says can be considered spoilers so read if you’re okay with being spoiled.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Justin and the other original Grey’s Anatomy cast members whose contracts were up at the end of this season have renewed for two more seasons.

EXCLUSIVE UPDATED: Big news for Grey’s Anatomy fans. I’ve learned that all original cast members whose future on the ABC medical drama had been up in the air amid contract negotiations, have re-upped for two more seasons. That includes Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers as well as James Pickens, Jr. and Chandra Wilson.

With the uncertainty surrounding the core quartet, Grey’s Anatomy creator-showrunner Shonda Rhimes had written the upcoming eighth season finale in a way that would leave the door open for them potentially departing Seattle Grace. The new contracts with Pompeo, Dempsey, Oh, Chambers, Pickens Jr. and Wilson pave the way for Grey’s to be renewed for a ninth season, something that already was all but guaranteed.

I guess this news coming out now ruins a bit of the suspense with the season finale cliffhangers. LOL

ABC released the stills for episode 8.21 of Grey’s Anatomy titled “Moment of Truth.” The still featuring Justin has been added to the gallery. Below is the link to the album and the episode synopsis.

“Moment of Truth” – After eight five* years of practice, the residents head to San Francisco for their oral boards; sparks fly between Catherine and Richard when they bump into each other at the hotel; Bailey intervenes after Owen and Teddy get into a heated argument about their young car crash patient; and Mark tries to recruit Lexie for one of his cases. Meanwhile, Alex feels guilty for being away from the hospital when Tommy’s health begins to fail, on Grey’s Anatomy, THURSDAY, APRIL 26 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

*Correction of the mistake ABC made in the synopsis. Even though it is season 8 of Grey’s Anatomy the residents (minus Lexie) are ending their 5th year.

Grey’s Anatomy was shooting on location in Los Angeles yesterday and someone took a pic of Justin shooting a scene for episode 8.22 titled “Let The Bad Times Roll“. If you read spoilers you’ll probably know what this picture means. Click on the thumbnail for the bigger pic.

Also, a reminder that Grey’s Anatomy returns tonight with episode “The Lions Sleeps Tonight.”
