Camilla Luddington, who plays intern Jo, said on Twitter that Justin is lovely and let us know that the cast has personalized pillows. 9.03 – Love the One You’re With

Finally, this is the promo for next Thursday’s episode of Grey’s, “I Saw Her Standing There”.

An article from The Hollywood Reporter about Meredith Israel Thomas has a brief mention of Justin. Meredith is a a former publicity and marketing executive at RCA Records who is dying of cancer and has been writing about her journey at Caringbridge.org. Plenty of people who never knew Meredith have reached out to her via Caring Bridge, Facebook and e-mail. They include Justin Chambers and Kevin McKidd from Grey’s Anatomy (she’s a fan of the show) along with several producers from the series.

In fact, in Meredith’s journal in the Oct. 15 entry titled “Scared to Death…there is nothing fun about dying” (NGL, I cried when I read her journal), she mentions Justin emailing her.

” I then received an email from the Justin Chambers who plays Alex Karev on Grey’s Anatomy thanking me for being a fan, for my writing skills and to wish me the best.”

In 1991 I was living in a ‘model hotel’ called the Hotel Orion in Athens Greece. I struggled and starved and traded photo sessions with models to survive. We were all trying to ‘make it’ to be ‘seen’ by the local fashion community of magazines, agencies and clients. I would often take a young beauty to the supermarket and buy her a giant container of yogurt and she would buy me a roll of film. We would go back to the hotel, dress him or her up and take photos for their portfolio. Sometimes we would take to the streets, prowl the bars, take over restaurants to get dynamic shots. We worked fast and furious and made some pretty cool art. We all got noticed but one boy in particular got MORE noticed. Justin Chambers, famous for his role on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Alex Karev… In 1991, we were living at the Orion and one day he bought me a roll of film. Ilford XP1.

In an article about a guest actress who was in the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, Justin gets a mention.

K-State alum begins acting career on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

With the help of an acting coach, she got a callback with five or six other people for the role on “Grey’s Anatomy.” In a room of producers and writers, she recited the lines and secured her role as the woman who greets Dr. Owen Hunt at an airport gate.

“It was so nerve-wracking,” Alexander said.

Even more nerve-wracking was the idea of acting with Kevin McKidd, according to Alexander.

This nervousness was cast aside when the scene was filmed at 10 o’clock on a cold night.

Alexander said she admired the fact that the “Grey’s Anatomy” cast still had the energy to act with enthusiasm; McKidd, Ellen Pompeo, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey, and Justin Chambers, who plays Dr. Alex Karev, had been on set since 8 that morning.

“They had been working since 8 a.m. Their energy [always] has to be up,” Alexander said.
