Tomorrow night a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy airs and ABC has been airing another promo for it and also a TGIT promo. Check them out:

This is a sneak peek from the episode. It doesn’t have Alex Karev in it, but it’s about him so I’ll leave it here, too.

Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) gave an interview to Variety where she talked about the Grey’s Anatomy midseason premiere and Alex’s situation. I’m posting only what she had to say about Alex, the full interview can be read at the link.

Variety: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Midseason Premiere: Does Karev Go to Jail? (SPOILERS)

Variety: In the final scene, Bailey tells Arizona and Jo that Karev took the plea deal and he’s going to jail. Is that actually going to happen, or is there any chance he can turn back?

Jessica: No. I think it’s definitely a ship that has sailed and I think you’re meant to believe that, and now you need to brace yourself for what will happen, now that he’s done that [taken the plea deal].

So, will we see Karev behind bars?

You’re going to have to watch the show! [laughing]

How will Arizona deal with this news about Karev?

I think she’s completely devastated. Between having seen a pretty horrific side of parenting and motherhood [at the prison, earlier in the episode], and now combined with the fact that one of her nearest-and-dearest proteges could be taken away forever, I think it’s as bad as it gets. If he goes to prison, he can’t practice medicine again. I think it’s a pretty sh-tty car ride home.

If Karev does go to jail, will we continue to see him? What does this mean for Justin Chambers on the show?

When you watch the show, you’re going to find out whether or not he really goes and what happens and what could get him out or what could keep him in. You’re going to see it all.

This Thursday, the episode is entitled “Jukebox Hero.” Below is the synopsis for episode and the promo. There’s a sneak peek out and it can be watched HERE.

“Jukebox Hero” – Richard and the attendings set out to make Eliza’s first day at Grey Sloan a bumpy one. Meanwhile, Meredith tries to track down Alex, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Justin’s Grey’s Anatomy co-star, Jessica Capshaw, was recently on BUILD Series and she spoke about working with Justin and his generosity as an actor. 💜
Check out what she had to say below (full interview can be watched HERE)

Another one of Justin’s co-stars, Camilla Luddington, attended ABC’s party at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour a couple of weeks ago. She spoke with Entertainment Tonight and mentions Justin, the increasing difficulty of hiding her pregnancy during filming and Jo & Alex, among other things.

The autoplay video and the full article can be seen at ET Online, but this is what Camilla had to say about the aforementioned topics:

But don’t expect Luddington’s pregnancy to be written into the show. As the actress revealed, it’s become increasingly difficult for the producers to find unique ways to hide her growing baby bump.

“I’m already in trouble,” she admitted. “I think they’re getting to the point where they might have to green screen/CGI it out actually, which they really do! Any time Justin [Chambers] hugs me, he’s like, ‘I can feel the bump!’”

As for the future of Jo and Alex, Luddington hopes they can resolve their issues and get back together.

“I am Team Jolex, but they’re just so messy,” she said, referencing the fall finale when Alex seemingly decided to turn himself in. “And with the midseason finale, it was really difficult to film. I’m really rooting for them. I know he’s doing this for her. It’s a dramatic return.”

TV Guide also interviewed Camilla at the TCA press tour and she talked about Alex and Jo in the last November’s Grey’s Anatomy midseason finale and whether her pregnancy will be written into the show. Check it out in the video below:

In another interview with Yahoo! Style, Camilla talks about the next three episodes of Grey’s and to expect more “traumatic storylines and drama” between Alex and Jo.

But regarding art, not life, what about fans’ burning question: Will Jo ever find love, or some version thereof? Or will she continue to sabotage herself?

“What I can tell you is the next three episodes take place right after the season finale. It’s the 72 hours after everything happens,” she explains. “Jo is in a complicated place with Alex [Chambers]. But I think she still is madly, completely in love with him. Her reaction to the drama that is happening with him means that she is destroyed by it.”

But the show’s actors don’t get their scripts until Monday, the day of the table read. So often what you see on camera is their authentic reactions to some of the show’s most emotionally insane cuts and bruises.

“What that means is, we’re all discovering the storylines at the same time,” Luddington says. “It makes for the most emotional table reads. It’s almost like we’re the audience, just with no wine. People are gasping and crying.” But initially, she says, “What you’re going to see is not some great reconciliation [between Jo and Alex]. Just more traumatic storylines and drama between them.”

Tomorrow night is the midseason premiere of Grey’s Anatomy and though Justin will not be in it (😞), I’ll leave links to sneak peeks and previews. 😉

ABC President, Channing Dungey, says she wants Grey’s Anatomy to continue for several more seasons, and highlights the interest people have in Alex and Meredith’s relationship.

Entertainment Weekly: Grey’s Anatomy – Shondaland ‘full steam ahead’ on more seasons

null

At the Television Critics Association’s press tour, EW sat down with Dungey to get her take on the future of Grey’s Anatomy, which is currently in its 13th season. By comparison, NBC’s stalwart medical series ER ran for 15 seasons, which Dungey hopes the flagship Shonda Rhimes drama can rival.

“That’d be lovely,” Dungey says. “I’ll take even more! Honestly, I think that the show is going to continue as long as Shonda and the gang have a creative passion for telling those stories. At the moment, it feels like we’re full steam ahead.”

In its 13th season, Grey’s Anatomy continues to be one of the network’s longest running and most successful current scripted series, averaging 11.6 million viewers and a 3.7 in the 18-49 demo, slightly down from this time last year (12 million, 3.9), but still making it the fourth biggest entertainment show after The Big Bang Theory, Empire, and This Is Us. Even Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) death in season 11 didn’t slow the show down, giving it a creative resurgence as Grey’s was able to explore new life for Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).

What does Grey’s need to do next to keep viewers coming back? “What Shonda and the team at Grey’s have really been able to do over time is continue to bring in new characters that give the series additional life and energy while remaining true to the core cast of characters,” Dungey says. “When I’ve been looking at the fan feedback and reaction from this season, people are more interested than ever in the relationship between Meredith and Alex [Justin Chambers], and these are two characters that have been around since season 1. But we’re now experiencing them in a totally different way than we have before. That’s just what the writers do so well; they continually peel back new layers of these characters that we get to expand and explore.”

Grey’s Anatomy returns tomorrow night on ABC (and CTV for Canadian viewers). Check out the promo for the TGIT lineup which includes Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder.

Did this really happen?
null

Why, yes, it definitely did. 😎

Third time (nomination) was the charm, and season 13 of Grey’s Anatomy is living up to the hashtag Grey’s cast & crew nicknamed it (#Lucky13). Lucky for Justin and lucky for us fans who love watching him play Alex. He’s had the main storyline this season and he’s been killing it. 🔥 🔥 Looking forward to the show’s return soon!

Anyway, after Jesse Williams’s congratulatory tweet in the previous post, here are a few more from co-stars Sarah Drew and Camilla Luddington, Grey’s head writer and executive producer William Harper, and Grey’s propmaster, Angela Whiting.

Justin didn’t attend the PCAs and his award wasn’t announced during the telecast because there were so many award categories. However, Grey’s Anatomy won for Favorite Network TV Drama and some cast members attended the show. The video wasn’t included in the previous post, so here is the brief moment when the win was announced.

01/19/2017

The People’s Choice Awards were handed out last night in Los Angeles, and the bad news is that Justin didn’t attend the awards this year. 😞

The good news is that Grey’s Anatomy, once again, won the award for Favorite Network TV Drama! Congrats to the entire cast & crew! 🎉

But the absolute BEST news is that Justin won the award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor!!! 👏 🎉
Congratulations, Justin!😊 You have more than earned the award. It’s well-deserved & long overdue!
🎊 🙌 🎉 👍

Justin’s Grey’s co-star, Jesse Williams, who was also up for the Favorite Dramatic TV Actor award, tweeted a congratulatory message.

Thanks to the fans who joined me in voting for Justin to win the award. I know I probably got annoying with all the voting posts here at the site, on Twitter and on the Facebook page, but it worked. WE DID IT! 😁

Grey’s Anatomy was supposed to return on January 19th. However, ABC announced on Monday that the return of the TGIT lineup has been pushed back a week and will instead be on January 26th. The change in schedule is due to a pre-inauguration 20/20 special. 😒

As Entertainment Weekly explains:

The winter premieres of Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder, as well as the season 6 premiere of Scandal have been pushed a week from Thursday, Jan. 19 until Thursday, Jan. 26 due to a pre-inauguration 20/20 special airing on ABC News.

The one-hour special, America’s First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington, will air at 10 p.m. ET, preceded by repeats of Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal at 8 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET, respectively. The move was made to ensure TGIT would return with three original episodes.

TGIT will officially return Thursday, Jan. 26, with Grey’s Anatomy at 8 p.m. ET, Scandal at 9 p.m. ET and How to Get Away with Murder at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

A visitor on the set of Grey’s Anatomy this Monday posted a short video of Justin during a break from filming episode 13.15. The video contains a big spoiler, so I’m putting it under a cut. Click on the link if you want to check it out.
