★ On Thursday, Grey’s Anatomy was filming episode 13.03 at West Los Angeles College which doubles as Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital. Below are a few photos (click on the thumbnails) and videos where we can see Justin on location. Other people in the photos include co-stars Ellen Pompeo, Caterina Scorsone, Kelly McCreary, Martin Henderson and director Rob Corn.

★ Last Thursday was ABC’s day at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, and actress Caterina Scorsone (Dr. Amelia Shepherd) attended and gave a few interviews about season 13 of Grey’s Anatomy. She spoke a bit about Alex and Jo’s storyline and said it will be a big part of the season premiere on September 22nd. Read below what she had to say about Jolex.

Speaking of Season 13 drama, Scorsone was able to tease “a huge storyline focusing on Alex and Jo,” whose relationship got rocked in the finale by the heart-crushing reveal that Jo has been living under a false identity, to elude an abusive husband.

“It got messy for them,” Scorsone says, “but that’s going to become a really multi-layered story that has social and personal overtones…. It’s a real opportunity to explore some important issues.”

The season premiere picks up right where we left off, but expect the Alex and Jo storyline to play a bigger role in the season opener. “In the first episode, it’s really wedding night, so Owen and Amelia are otherwise occupied,” Caterina Scorsone tells me. “And there’s a big piece of drama going on having to do with another storyline [with Alex and Jo] that I think is going to play for a while in the season. It’s very explosive, very exciting and interesting on social levels and personal character levels.”

Media and fans were speculating about the meaning behind the design, but Shonda Rhimes said there is none. It’s just a poster. LOL

Last Saturday, Justin attended the 15th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball which raised more than $1.4 million in support of the organization‘s services for low-income and homeless individuals across Los Angeles County.

Justin was accompanied by his daughter, Kaila (19), and he was reunited with his friend and former Grey’s Anatomy co-star, Eric Dane, and his wife Rebecca Gayheart-Dane (she’s the founder and co-chair of the Butterfly Ball).

Season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy has come to an end and it was ABC’s #1 drama of the 2015/2016 season. Congratulations to Justin and the rest of the cast and crew on another successful season! 😊 Justin is now enjoying the hiatus and will return to work for season 13 of Grey’s in July.

What was the cast’s reaction like? How did Justin respond?

Nobody else knew that Jo was married. I didn’t know that was the storyline that was going to happen. I wasn’t sure Jo would be answering the question at the end of the season. When I read it, there were castmembers gasping. Justin was sitting across the table from me and just shook his head at me! (Laughing.) I told him, “I’m so sorry!”

Does this force her hand to be honest about her husband with Alex?

It might, but I almost feel like she’s so terrified about it that I don’t even know if that will. I have no idea. She already thought she’s lost him by the time she gets in that bar with DeLuca. Still, that wasn’t enough to tell him. That’s how frightened she is about it and how much she thinks that she’s also trying to protect Alex. It’s a really sad situation. I remember doing this scene with Justin, I said to him, “I really don’t know how I can recover from this” — I speak like I’m my character — “How do I explain this to you?” He’s like, “I don’t know.” You hope that maybe their love is so strong and so unconditional that it doesn’t break them, but I don’t know how it can’t at this point.
